Selling To Retroelectro

Terms of Sale

These terms explain how a sale works when you offer items or a collection to Retroelectro. We’ve written them to be straightforward and readable, because selling a collection shouldn’t require a law degree.

Any valuation or indication of value we give from photographs, messages or descriptions is provisional until we have had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the items.

By agreeing to sell items to Retroelectro, you confirm that you are the owner of the items, or that you have the owner’s authority to sell them.

You also confirm that the items are not stolen, subject to undisclosed third-party ownership or finance, or otherwise being sold without proper authority.

If there is anything unusual about ownership of a collection, please tell us before a sale is agreed.

We often begin with photographs, a rough description and an idea of the size of the collection. This is enough for us to decide whether we are interested and, in many cases, to give an initial indication of value.

An initial valuation is not a final offer. Values can change if the actual items, condition, completeness, authenticity or quantity differ from what could reasonably be understood from the information supplied.

There is no obligation to accept an offer from us.

We do consider faulty, incomplete, damaged or imperfect items. They are not automatically rejected.

The condition and completeness of an item can affect what we are able to pay, so please tell us about any faults, missing parts, damage, repairs, reproduction parts or other issues you already know about.

If we discover a significant issue during inspection that was not apparent from the photographs or description, we may make a revised offer.

We may revise an initial valuation where the items are materially different from what was described or reasonably shown before we received them.

Examples might include significant undisclosed damage, missing items or parts, a substantial difference in quantity or condition, authenticity concerns, or items being different from those shown in photographs.

We will explain why an offer has changed. You are free to accept or decline the revised offer.

If you decline a revised offer because the items were materially different from the photographs, description or information originally provided, Retroelectro and the seller will share the reasonable return postage cost equally.

Where practical, we will agree the return method and cost with you before the items are sent back.

For larger collections or items collected in person, return arrangements will be discussed with you based on the circumstances.

A sale becomes final when:

1. We have made a final offer;
2. You have accepted that final offer; and
3. Retroelectro has made payment to you.

Until those steps have happened, an initial valuation or preliminary offer does not by itself complete the sale.

Once the final offer has been accepted and payment has been made, ownership of the agreed items passes to Retroelectro and the sale is complete.

Payment is normally made directly to the bank details agreed with you.

We will never ask you to pay a fee in order to receive money from us. Please make sure the payment details you provide are accurate.

Any timing or special payment arrangements for a particular collection will be agreed with you before the sale is completed.

Please do not send items to us until postage or collection has been agreed.

If items are being posted, they should be packed reasonably securely for the type and value of the goods. For larger or particularly valuable collections we may arrange collection instead.

Where we arrange a collection, we’ll agree the practical details with you beforehand.
